• Must have a grade under 75 (70 to 74, max) in one school subject.

About Silid Aralan

A line of 7 shouldn't be the end of the line. In Silid Aralan, it's where we love to get started. Silid Aralan Inc. (SAI) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization in the Philippines, founded by Arcie Mallari, that aims to give low-performing and underprivileged students confidence in their capabilities as a means of affecting their academic performance for the better.

Arcie built Silid Aralan upon his experience meeting a young man who couldn’t read the Bible handed to him, despite already being in high school. The soon-to-be founder’s curiosity led him to discover a disturbing fact, that in some schools, the ratio of teachers to students is 1:90. Hence, Silid Aralan focuses its resources on helping low-performing public school students, who are the bulk of the student population.

SAI has a proven track record of being able to boost their learners’ academic performance by focusing on practical applications of values and customizing daily learning to the student’s passions and hobbies.

Their generosity has caught the eyes of multiple institutions. Arcie and Silid Aralan Inc. have garnered various awards throughout the years, those of which include:

1. Fellow Nominee, Ashoka (2014)
2. Finalist, Civic Movers of the Year by News Agency Rappler (2015)
3. Silver Awardee with Y&R Philippines, Asia Pacific (APAC) Effie (2016)
4. Grand National Awardee, CSR Youth Awards Philippines (2016)
5. Awardee, Makabagong Panday Awards on the Dignified Life Category (2017)
6. 1st Prize Winner, 1st Global Youth for South Solution Awareness Contest (2017)
7. Awardee, Jollibee Family Values of the Year (2017)
8. National Awardee, Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (2018)
